Ghanaian Hiplife star now turned pastor, Lord Kenya has recounted his days in the music scene in a new interview with Hammer of Pure FM.
In the interview, he revealed that he was the first rapper to win the most coveted prize at the Ghana Awards settling the beef between himself and Reggie Rockstone, who many thought was going to be the winner on the night.
In the 90s, the two were Ghana’s topmost rappers who reigned for years and beefed along the line to prove their worth.
But in 2001, the beef ended when Kenya was crowned “Artiste of the Year” at the Ghana Awards. He also won the topmost award, “Song of the Year”, which settled the dust and his place as the best musician at the time.
